The stock price of YG Entertainment experienced a decline of 4.80% amid an investigation involving G-Dragon's alleged copyright infringement. Yang Hyun-suk is currently under police scrutiny.

The decline in YG Entertainment’s stock price is attributed to the news of ongoing police investigations concerning singer G-Dragon and the company's executive producer Yang Hyun-suk. This situation follows a period where the company had seen a six-day rise in its stock, supported by strong Q2 financial results.

At 9:22 a.m. on the 13th, YG Entertainment's stock was priced at ₩97,200, reflecting a decrease of ₩4,900 (4.80%) from the previous trading session. The stock opened at ₩102,000 and dropped to an intraday low of ₩97,100, marking a 4.89% decrease.

The recent decline contrasts with YG Entertainment’s previous strong market performance. On August 8, the company announced a return to profitability in the second quarter, reporting ₩100.4 billion in consolidated revenue and ₩8.4 billion in operating profit, with net income reaching ₩11.2 billion, a positive change from the previous year. The stock reached a 52-week high of ₩104,900 on August 12.

As per police reports, an investigation was initiated by Seoul’s Mapo Police Station after a complaint was filed in November last year by composer A. The complaint alleged that G-Dragon and Yang Hyun-suk violated copyright laws by reproducing and distributing a piece of work without authorization in an album.

YG Entertainment has refuted the allegations. A company official, in a statement reported by Ilgan Sports, clarified, "This issue originates from a 2009 solo concert where two songs with identical titles were mistakenly included in the setlist. It does not involve unauthorized album reproduction."

The police have conducted interviews with involved parties and executed two raids at YG Entertainment’s headquarters as part of the ongoing investigation.
